Heartland Stickleback White is a blend of 52% Chardonnay, 32% Verdelho, 16% Semillon. Vibrant straw in colour with flashes of lime green. Masses of citrus zest on the nose with gooseberry, peach and passionfruit hints. Flavours of lemon zest and pear balanced by refreshing, crisp acid and a long, lifted finish.

The winery’s entry-level wine is a big treat! A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Shiraz and 8% Petite Verdot, this is both surprisingly complex and super easy to drink. The Cabernet and Malbec deliver red currant fruit and bright acidity, while the Shiraz lends depth of flavor and softness and the Petite Verdot a lovely herbal/floral element. Very soft tannins and fresh red fruit flavors make Langhorne Crossing a great choice for parties and cookouts.

Red Dust is the kind of super value Australia used to specialize in. The company is a joint venture of US Importer Bob Shack and winemaker Hugh Matthews, former president of both BRL Hardy and Lindemann Estates. The wine is a gem! It's a blend of 95% Shiraz and 5% Merlot. The aromas feature blackberry, plum and just a touch of cracked pepper. Flavors lean towards dark berries and plum with enough oak to add interest. It's full-bodied and ready to drink with beef, ribs, grilled pork, or other robust meals.

A blend of 62% Shiraz, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc. Super ripe plum jam with dark chocolate richness, black currant and briar fruit on the nose. Soft, round and gentle with aromas of marzipan, complex black currant fruit, and hints of peppermint and smoky sweet vanilla. On the palate, ripe red berries, vibrant, soft and round, gentle medium bodied structure and black fruit are found. Long, integrated tannins and some oak lactone influence also exist.

Here's a great example of cool(er) climate Shiraz from what is probably the best producer of value reds working in Australia today. Nicely aromatic; smells of black plum, crushed raspberries and baking spice on the nose. Then nicely spicy and vibrant with balanced fruit, great acidity and a touch of roasted meat in the middle. This gains weight and depth with a little air and will drink well over the next 3-5 years.

The Cover Drive Cabernet comes from the Southern most border of the Coonwarra region, Australia's premier Cabernet growing area. The wine has aromas of crushed purple and black fruit with tinges of cedar box. Big-bodied, but with smooth, peppery tannins. Loads of Black-currant and crushed satsuma plum, with tinges of mint. Juicy and appealingly sweet, with lively red and dark berry flavors and tangy minerality. There's nothing heavy about this wine. The black raspberry note recurs on the focused finish. This is a young wine that punches above its weight. The wine is very powerful with aromas of peppered blue and blackberry and vanilla bean. The wine has flavors of blackberry cobbler with deeper notes of nutmeg infused bacon and spiced tobacco. Tannins are surprisingly soft for this young wine, and the finish lingers for a long time. Plays nicely with grilled Fillet Mignon or roasted lamb.
